Meet Richard Greer

About Richard.
Richard is a first generation horseman with none of his knowledge being gifted to him. Over 32 years he has worked hard to develop a unique skill set, always striving to understand the whole essence of the horse. Richards vast experiences is outlined below;

In 1997 Richard trained as an Equine Dentist with Mr Steve Sampson, Americas foremost dentist. Understanding dentistry is a key part of understanding equine health.
Richard has written magazine articles on training, rehabilitation and saddle structure and effects for The Barefoot Horse Magazine.
As a rider and trainer Richard was coached extensively by two exceptional Grand Prix riders. In show jumping by Mr Ian Silitch of Ocala, Florida and in Dressage and In-hand work by classical master the late Mr Ken Sudsbury in the UK.
In competition, Richard has very broad experience and over the years has competed in Showjumping, Dressage, Endurance, Carriage Driving and Eventing. In the uniquely English sport of team chasing Richard rode at Open level, jumping obstacles that any world class rider would take seriously.
In 2003 Richard specialised in equine rehabilitation and behaviour. For such a talented and educated rider to devote his best riding years to fixing broken horses is truly a rare occurrence. At his stables in England Richard developed one of the most forward thinking rehabilitation programs in the world. Utilising his knowledge of why horses break down in their training, allowed Richard to develop a unique program to bring them back to health.
One of the key factors in his success was his training in Equine body work, specifically Shiatsu Massage. Richard trained in Shiatsu in America under the guidance of Shiatsu master Dr. Geary Whiting and further broadened his education in England with Dr Ray Smith and Mr Pierre Antoye. Richards’ use of Shiatsu and it’s deep muscle techniques takes massage to another level, allowing little understood restrictions to be rectified in the horses body - improving performance and giving horses a new zest for life.
